During the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping, I walked into a jewellery store with a little boy and his Dad perched over the glass drawer looking at beautiful diamond earrings. The boy was only about five or six and he requested the pretty lady behind the counter to hold up every pair by her ear to see if they were worthy of adorning his Mum. With every pair held up, his Dad would glance at his son in search of approval, but the little one would just shake his head at the lady and say “That’s not pretty enough for my Mommy”. I didn’t stay long enough to see if their shopping trip was fruitful. However, I do wish that every Mum is presented with a gift that has received as much thought as the little boy’s Mum because every Mum deserves it this Mother’s Day.
