Coco

After a rather inefficient yet tiring day at work (inefficient, not on my part might I add), I returned home to catch a 5 minute cat-nap then had dinner at a rather yummy Japanese restaurant along Toorak Road with a rather lovely family :)

I always drive past Yoshi, and I dine at Nandos as well as Red Wok (both next door) but have never really tried this cute little restaurant. The menu was extensive and everything they brought out looked excellent - almost as excellent as the Malaysian food contestants of Masterchef were exhibiting last night. The plasma along the wall was a distraction to dinner time conversation but we were all so consumed with what was being dished up that it didn't matter Poh served a dish which incorporated Petai! (for those who don't know, its a super smelly bean I steer clear of...so I was very impressed the judges had a good taste and enjoyed it!)

Two ladies then set off to Como for Coco. And Hot Cocoa we got to satisfy our sweet cravings and cold bodies. The cinema was packed with ladies and the occassional man who was dragged along.

I enjoyed the movie...it was interesting to learn about the life of Gabrielle Chanel before the tweed jackets and pearl necklaces were associated to her name. Coco was in fact the name of the dog she sang about as she was trying hard to make a living to move to Paris. I'll say no more, but it was a nice movie to see, especially for those who love her work. And as expected, Audrey Tatou played Coco Chanel fashionably well. Coco Chanel was way ahead of her time but for those who are interested in just seeing the fashion, you'll be greatly disappointed as the story is predominantly about her life before the fashion house, her private life.
