What they want and what I can't offer

I went to the Designer's Market with a girlfriend from work on Sunday. To be honest I was rather disappointed. Firstly I was disappointed I didn't manage to set up stall there because the event draws thousands of people even on a dark cold day. Secondly, I was disappointed with what was there (I'm not saying it out of bitterness).
Based on my observations, I can see why I didn't make the cut - by "Design" they pretty much mean something different and innovative.

And innovative it was at this store...

I first read about a foldable bike when I was living in Beijing and thought gee, how handy. It was too packed at the market to ask for a demonstration but I can imagine from the size of the wheels, the bike can be compacted into a nice little thing.

Then there was this...
Pretty stall I must say. It brings back childhood memories of playing dress up and hosting tea parties. The shop was selling all sorts of tights / leggings and had a set up by presenting the tights in clear cupcake packaging.

Outside of Fed Square, I whipped out my camera and started taking photos. It was my first outing out with the camera not photographing people I know and I felt so damn awkward! I kept looking behind my shoulder and tried to make sure no parent thought I was some sort of pedophile - though my friend assured me that dressed in high heeled boots and a floral dress, that would be highly highly unlikely. So snap snap snap I went...

This was an art piece created to promote Red Cross and blood donations (if I remember correctly). The photo is rather small but there is a girl lying in the far right circle... I have a feeling she might have been paid to sit there because all she did was pose. So I went to the other side and captured something more natural - German tourists trying to figure out what the whole fuss was about.
