Happy "Niu" Year

It's a new year but with the economy overshadowing all sorts of festivities, people are tightening their wallets and prepping themselves for gloomier days to come. As I make the transition from university to work (from which I had hoped would allow me to detach myself from Daddy's scholarship), the current financial state has got me thinking...

With 70,000 jobs lost in just one day in the United States, one has to ask whether Australia is insulated from the credit crunch. Does being geographically distant from the centre of the Wall Street mayhem mean we won't feel the pinch as hard?

With negative news flooding our morning papers, I pray that with Obama inaugurated, his wisdom will lead the world's economy towards recovery. But rather than thinking as Superwoman on a mission to save the world from financial destruction, I'd like to know what we ladies can do on an everyday basis to protect ourselves and prevent finding that the silk lining in our purses has torn and left nothing but a deep hole that collects yuck. I have therefore decided to start this blog to share budget wise tips from food, fashion, beauty and more. I hope that you will join me in adopting habits that can help us secure our financial positions now and in the future.
